Interesting Facts About Little Rock
Little Rock, Arkansas was named for the ‘little rock’ formation that was on the south bank of the Arkansas River and that was used as a landmark for early settlers. The area became a popular river-crossing location and was named by Jean Baptiste de la Harpe, a French explorer.
Economy and Businesses
The population of Little Rock is more than 600,000, a large number that no doubt keeps Little Rock movers busy with families moving into the area, relocating to new homes within the city and at times moving out of the city. Public education in Arkansas consists of 64 schools with more slated to be built. The public school system in Arkansas is quite comprehensive and includes an early childhood school, an adult education center, 2 alternative schools, a career school and an eSchool.
